5 months

This month began with Ian's Baptism. Both mine and Matt's families were present. The last time both families saw each other was for our wedding in '04. The time was special indeed. Ian flew for the first time to visit Matt's family in Ohio. Matt did not accompany us on this maiden trip. Visiting Matt's family without Matt did not seem bizarre to me. This was the longest time Matt and I have been apart since we got engaged in '03. Now THAT was bizarre. Ian got to meet his cousin Paxton and Aunt Lauri, Uncle Josh, Uncle Dan and Aunt Michelle. The highlight of the vacation was Ian meeting his Great Grandmother Janet. That meeting was indeed special. A morning nap schedule has also develop while in Ohio. Two hours after Ian and I "start" the day he gets sleepy. However, his sleeping through the night seemed to take a vacation as well. Ian has been introduced to the spoon and began to eat solids. He has daily combats with the spoon and rice cereal. Hopefully, he will soon realize that the spoon brings yummy goodness. In addition to this milestone, Ian has also found his toes. We have also ventured into baby sign language thanks to Uncle Josh. Though the only thing that this has accomplished thus far is that mommy looks like a looney as Ian simply stares, or entertains me with his babbling.

This weekend was very meaningful as it was the first time our families came together since witnessing our wedding. This time it was to witness Ian's baptism.

Afterwards, the family enjoyed a wonderful Persian dinner at Rumi's Kitchen in Sandy Springs.
